I heard an old, old story, how a Savior came from glory
How He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me
I heard about His groaning, of His precious blood's atoning
Then I repented of my sins and won the victory, yeah

Have you heard the old, old story? Around two thousand years ago the Son of God came down from glory to give His life on Calvary in painful death for our salvation. Do you feel like you're living without hope, without purpose, in defeat? It doesn't have to be that way. Jesus won the victory already! You can live in victory through Him. Repent of your sins and follow Him. You'll find victory in Jesus.

Why should we tarry
When Jesus is pleading
Pleading for you and for me
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies
Mercies for you and for me

Beautiful, old gospel music performed by Carrie Underwood's incredible, trained voice? I'm always up for that. So excited she is finally releasing a gospel album and my CD rack will have another slot filled later this month! Life in our modern world seems characterised by almost constant noise. News, advertisements, (music even!), cars, machinery, and all sorts of gadgets keep our ears busy almost nonstop. But turn it all off. Now, do you hear it? Softly and tenderly, Jesus is calling. O sinner, come home. Don't wander aimlessly and lost any longer. Come home. Jesus is calling. Will you respond?

"This is my temporary home,
It's not where I belong
Windows and rooms
That I'm passing through
This is just a stop on the way to where I'm going
I'm not afraid because I know
This is my temporary home."

I think we've all experienced at some point or another that life isn't always easy. At times it's messy, it's dirty, and it hurts. People let us down and aren't who they say they are. We don't get the job we were hoping for. Relationships don't work out. Disaster strikes. Accidents happen. Loved ones move away and pass on. All these things remind us that this is our temporary home.
