Peer into the Past 2014

For the last five/six-ish years Mrs. Rakete has organised Peer into the Past, the Manukau Homeschool Group's history fair. Usually we've had around four to six projects entered, but this year we weren't even sure if we'd have any! Monique and Danielle did enter though (at the last minute . . . ) with projects on Ida Skudder and the Titanic, respectively.

Also for the first time, I wasn't at the fair the whole time; it was on a Wednesday (my birthday, incidentally) which is the day I work with Dad, and we just popped over for a little while. Yeah, I feel old not really being part of it {haha}. I got to catch up with some other "old" people {lol} I hadn't seen for ages so that was nice.

Irene spoke about Greece's impact on modern western society, and then we had prize giving. Danielle won a prize, as did our pastor's kids.

Wellington Adventure! || Part 2

Click here to read part 1.

On Tuesday, Aunty Melissa had to get someone a birthday present (#scoreforme) so we hit a couple of shops after dropping Nana at her friend's place, then headed to a bowling alley for some fun.

A few more shops and a grocery trip later, we headed home for a few hours. Then out to a barbecue dinner, where I met lots of new people [and didn't take any photos].

Aunty Melissa, Olivia, and I made for the mall on Wednesday morning for a few hours shopping. (For some reason Harry didn't think that sounded very exciting, so we left him at home with Nana.) I tried on several things, but ended up settling with just a couple of bracelets (yeah, I can be great at window shopping ;)). Oh yeah, and the coffee was good! :)

Later we picked Uncle Bill up from work and went to the Fisherman's Table for dinner.

After that it was straight to the airport for my short flight home. *sigh*

Day 3 ~ Wednesday ~ Fishing

Wednesday started out a beautiful sunny day. Dad decided we should go down to the i-site before lunch; we took the car down and I parked up ‘round the corner with my laptop to make use of Telecom’s free wi-fi. Lol.

Back at the camp we searched the fridge (no kidding, we actually have one in our tent! :P), chilly bin, and several boxes to find food for lunch. (Yep, organisation around here is lacking a bit.) Afterwards I took a chemistry test (from Dr. Wile’s textbook :)), dictation from some of the little ones for their diaries, and photos {for my blog}. And I read a bit from my book – Generation Change by Zach Hunter.

Since we hadn’t managed any ‘activity’ that afternoon (it got a bit late after the others had been in the camp pool), Dad said we should all go fishing. Well, that was his plan. I went ‘fishing’ with my laptop (excellent internet connectivity – woohoo!! Lol) sitting at one of the picnic tables on the waterfront. Hehe :P We got back around 11pm and Maria and Laura weren’t so happy. Maybe that’s why the people in the tent across from us only stayed one night . . . haha

: : Bryce and Maria : :

We don't have any great photos of this,  but you can see a few lights and things in this one.

Mum's had the baby!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone,

Mum has been having labour pains every so often over Tuesday and Wednesday.

When I went to bed just after 2am this morning, Mum had gone to bed, and I thought we had a day, maybe more, before birth. So I was a little surprised when I woke up just after 7:30 to find I had a new baby sister!

She was born at 4:37am weighing 7lb 15ozs.

Her name is Maria Victoria Jago

Thanks for looking,
Bianca
