"They are not forgotten
We are fighting for them
We've answered their silent cry to be their voice
Their life was not for nothing
We celebrate their heart beat
The price that they paid is a fire that'll change this world"

We're living in a time when churches are closed and abortion clinics are open. Over 500,000 abortions in New Zealand alone wasn't enough bloodshed for us so we rushed a new bill through parliament while everyone was distracted by coronavirus. Now we can legally murder our children right up until birth is complete. We decided to allow it for almost any reason including disability and gender, because we've come to believe that life is a privilege only for the perfect and the wanted.

Even amid so much death and darkness, a few brave souls will hear the cries of the innocent and rise up to defend them and bring light to the darkness. They must not be forgotten. We must be the voices of the voiceless. We must fight for them. We must turn to God and pray, "Jesus heal our land"!

"The scarlet cord brought salvation
To Rahab's house that day
And it would stand as a picture
Of the price our Lord would pay

If you're looking for a way out
Of the judgment that awaits
The scarlet of Jesus' blood
Is the only way"

In our present life we are accustomed to a vast array of options before us. Considering all available choices for a meal can take longer than eating the meal. When purchasing a car, there are more options than I can name. When we're in high school and encouraged to choose a career, the choices available to us can seem endless and overwhelming.

Securing eternal life is much more straight-forward. There is only one option. Jesus' blood is shed, and offered to us. We accept it or we don't. There is no third option. It's still the only way.

"See God's salvation plan
Wrought in love, borne in pain, paid in sacrifice
Fulfilled in Christ, the man
For He lives, Christ is risen from the dead."

Keith and Kristyn Getty have some wonderful gospel music combining great lyrics with beautiful melodies, and this song is one example. As we were singing this during yesterday morning's church-at-home service, I knew it would be the one I shared today. Our salvation was excruciatingly difficult to purchase, paid for with blood. But the transaction was successful, it was completed. Jesus conquered death and rose victorious. Now salvation is freely available to all who will accept it. He lives!
